Meet Robin, our in-house jeweler! Robin grew up in Arizona and was heavily influenced by local Native American art and craft. He has had a passion for creating jewelry his whole life. Robin’s first piece was crafted at age 12 in his dad’s workshop. Robin is also a true outdoors man. He is a fly fisherman and is inspired by all aspects of nature. He has served his country as an Air Force veteran and also worked as a Air Traffic Controller retiring in 1999.
Robin works in all realms of the jewelry world. He loves cutting opals because of the way the stones comes to life and the fire reveals itself as the rock is cut away. He describes jewelry like architecture in miniature form. Subtle differences in angles make all the difference in the final piece. He also enjoys re-purposing family jewelry. Precious metals and stones can last forever, therefore when making the piece, Robin wants the workmanship to have the same longevity. When it comes to wedding and engagement rings, he factors in that the piece is going to be worn everyday. He also considers strength, elegance, and timelessness when building wedding rings. The jewelry Robin creates comes out of a hot kiln. It is hammered and soldered and tumbles, so a lot of work is put in to make a small piece strong and durable. If the piece is treated carefully it will last a couple of lifetimes. Robin’s most exotic piece was made using a customer’s meteorites including a piece from Mars. He really enjoys the uniqueness of his craft.
Robin is leading the way with the new Kelly Wade Jewelers Private Studio. He truly enjoys the process between customer, designer and bench jeweler. He believes this relationship results in the best pieces. Having the studio so close to the store enables the creativity process to thrive! Robin believes the biggest jewelry mistake is not having pieces checked and cleaned periodically. Prongs are the thinnest but the most important part of any piece. They support the stones and they can wear away. Robin can easily keep them strong and reliable. Please bring in your pieces and meet the newest member of our team!
Kimberly is a proud native of San Antonio and is happy to call the Alamo Heights community her home. Prior to joining the team at Kelly Wade Jewelers, she spent six years as a Preschool teacher at St. David’s helping children learn and grow. As head of the Repair Department, she takes pride in providing her clients with excellent customer service. Developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything she does, and she looks forward to growing those bonds every day at Kelly Wade Jewelers. She and her husband, Jake, share a home with their pup Lola and look forward to growing their family and serving the community.
Christine is a graduate from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Fine Art and History. Since then, she’s lived in Aspen, Washington DC, Houston and now San Antonio pursuing careers in Public Relations, Event Planning and Non-profit Fundraising. Her passion for style and design, and her love of jewelry and fashion, stem from years of antiquing adventures with her mother – who had impeccable taste and artistic instincts. Those trips are what incited her obsession with vintage jewelry. She also dabbled in jewelry design with her father, who owned a jewelry and corporate awards business. She believes jewelry should be an extension of the person wearing it, and she looks forward to helping customers choose just right pieces to project their personality and passions. She and her husband have three boys and after 25 years, can truly say San Antonio is her home.
Jackie grew up in Houston and attended The University of Texas at Austin where she became friends with Kelly. Upon graduation, they stayed connected so when she made the move to San Antonio, Kelly was the first person she called. She helped Kelly start her first jewelry store and worked there for a few years. Then when the new store opened, she started working with Kelly a second time and has had an absolute blast since. She’s loved helping Kelly design her new store and looks forward to seeing it become a central partner in the Alamo Heights community. Jackie is married to Bret Broussard Jr. and they have three spunky, hilarious children together.
Linda moved to San Antonio from Las Vegas in 2011 when her husband accepted an executive position in the Oil & Gas Industry. It was soon after that her husband and two daughters fell in love with the Alamo City. When she first moved to San Antonio, she took a sabbatical to focus on her two daughters and grow her photography business. She’s always been fascinated with jewelry, especially the notion that each piece has a history and a story to tell. Perhaps some of her interest in gemstones was kindled by her father-in-law, who owned a jewelry store inside Caesars Palace in the 1980s and told captivating stories about his experiences there. Prior to moving to Texas, she spent ten years in Marketing & Sales and is thrilled to be a part of the Kelly Wade team. Linda and her husband have two daughters together.
Kelly Wade Fry
Kelly was born and raised in San Antonio and graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 2000. She attended The University of Texas at Austin where she received her undergraduate degree and then decided to make a career out of her love for fine jewelry by completing the graduate gemologist program at the Gemological Institute of America. Kelly inherited her passion for jewelry from her loving mother, who passed in 1989. As a young girl, she’d always play with her jewelry, and now today, she feels connected to her and her legacy. Kelly carries her mother’s memory with her as she helps her clients find the perfect piece for their taste, lifestyle and budget. She was hired to help open a jewelry store in San Antonio and bought the store with her business partner in 2009. After many cherished years, in 2017, she decided to sell her interest in the store and independently open Kelly Wade Jewelers. She takes joy in serving her customers and giving back to the community that has provided her with so much. Her family is the joy of her life. She’s been happily married to her husband, Steven, for seven years and they have two daughters. Her sweet stepdaughter, Nancy (11), and rambunctious daughter, Raleigh (4), constantly keep her on her toes.
